Unexpected News

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

The news about Palito de Coco, Rumai, is not as it was expected. After his presentation on a TV program called ´´De Extremo a Extremo´´ and his participation in a stadium with Las Aguilas baseball team, Rumai divulged in La Súper Revista Program that he had been deceived by his manager, Oliver Peña, who denied everything. Oliver claimed not to have received money from these activities. He said that he had only received $ 3000 dollars From Frederick Martinez (El Pacha) for taking part in a TV commercial, and that he has given $1700 dolars to Rumai, more than 50 percent as established in the contract. Oliver Peña said that he would sue Rumai for defamation. Let’s wait what will happen.

The Oldest Rivalry in the Dominican Republic

The Oldest Rivalry in the Dominican Republic

December is a month in which people in the Dominican Republic come together and agree on everything, except for one thing: baseball. The Dominican Winter League started again, and thousands of people have been attending to the different stadiums countrywide. This season the six teams have been playing very well, but every single basebal fan thinks his or her team is the one that will win the national championship. The traditional teams, Aguilas Cibaeñas and Tigres del Licey, have been on top of the rest of teams. Aguilas fans tease Licey fans saying that their team is the best, but Licey fans say they will win because their team has the best players of the league. They often forget that there are other four teams, and that any of them could win the championship. Last year, Aguilas Cibaeñas were on top of the rest of the teams during the regular season, but at the end of the season they were defeated 5-0 by a team that ended up in fourth place. So, I think that, instead of arguing about which is the best team, it would be better if we enjoyed every game and waited untill the end of the season to know which is the best, wouldn't it?
