YRMA SANCHEZ BIDO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN VILLA RIVA

    Nowadays, education is vast and complex, Yrma Sanchez Bido Elementary School is an important Educational Center which has been offering a good education to the community of Villa Riva for more than ninety years. It is very important for our society not only because it is one of the most modern schools in the city, but also it allows students to develop new skills they need through the different activities they do.   

           Yrma Sanchez Bido Elementary School has an interesting location. It is on 27de Febrero Street, next to Luis Teodocio Molina Albert old School, which is in front of Adames Supermarket in Villa Riva. This school is painted in blue, yellow, and white. Yrma Sanchez Bido Elementary School is not only the biggest, but also the most important school in Villa Riva City. It has two buildings surrounded by a big wall. At the entrance, there is a Kindergarten room with three classrooms located to the right. To the left, there is a dining room. Behind it, there is a big Basketball court. Next to it, there is a little park. On the first building ,there are the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. Beside those rooms, there is the Library. On the second floor, there are the third, fourth, and eighth grades. Next to them, there are two bathrooms. The first building is decorated with patriotic symbols. On the second building, there is the administrative office. The principal`s office and secretary´s office are inside. Next to it, there is the Pre-School´s office. Between the first and second building, there is another little park, on the first floor, there is the Computer Laboratory. Beside it, there are some classrooms. Each building has four bathrooms.

          Since its foundation, Yrma Sanchez Bido Elementary School has changed many things. This school changed names and places about four times. The first name of this school was given in honor of San Antonio de Padua in 1905. At that time, this first School was founded in Villa Riva City. At that moment, the student population was very small, which did not exceed 40 students. The second name given to this school was Cacimiro de Moya. It was moved to a new place in 1940. At that moment, the grades were only up to fourth grade in the same schedule and classroom. In 1950, when Cacimiro de Moya School was moved to 27 de Febrero Street in front of María Tejada´s laboratory, they changed its the name to Luis Teodocio Molina Albert. By that time, student’s population was about 992 students. Sixty four years later on August 12^th, 2014 the school was inaugured by the president Danilo Medina with the name Yrma Sanchez Bidó Elementary School. Nowadays, this school is located where the Municipal Basketball Court was. At present, this school has about 1,000 students, 32 teachers, one director, one director´s assistant, and two security guards. The sacrifice of many people resulted in the foundation of the most important elementary school in Villa Riva City.

            Beyond that, Yrma Sanchez Bido School offers good facilities that didn´t exist. Three examples are the computer laboratory, the library and the big court. Those facilities have changed the lives of people in Villa Riva City. One important reason for those changes is the computer laboratory that permits students to get information from the Internet for free. Also, teachers teach computer courses for children and adult people, helping then to learn about computers in their free time. One interesting reason is the library the elementary school has, which allows many students to enjoy different kinds of books, and do their homework. One the most enjoyable facilities in this school is the big Basketball court, where students do different activities like playing basketball and volleyball. Also, teachers organize a basketball and volleyball tournament in which students participate. The top students are chosen for representing the school versus other schools. Those are the reasons why people consider this elementary school the most important in the community.

            To conclude, Yrma Sanchez Bido Elementary school is the biggest and most interesting Educational Center of Villa Riva. This School is very accessible and comfortable. In it, students and teachers perform many activities. Yrma Sanchez Bido Elementary school´s facilities have changed the lives of many people in the community.
