FROM QUICK WRITING TO PARAGRAPH
Hi, everyone,
I have been teaching an intermediate group for three semesters at the main site of Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. Once, my students and I were doing an exercise in which they had to write a paragraph about an exciting experience we had had. I started by asking them to think of one and create a title for it. I thought of one, too. After that, I told them that we would quick write about it. Later, we shared our paragraphs with other members of the class. Finally, I noticed that they had done such a good job that I asked them to make revisions and send their paragraphs to my e-mail address. I made other revisions and the following paragraphs is the result. I hope you enjoy them. Have you ever had an experience similar to the ones my students had?

My
last birthday was a really good experience. Fortunately, all my friends went
with me (where?) and I was so happy for that. I enjoyed all the party.
Unfortunately, some of my friends didn’t go, but the majority went. Amazingly,
we spent all the night together, like good friends. We listened to music, drank
some drinks, bought food and some of them danced.
New York

One of my favorite experiences was when I visited Manhattan, New York a
year ago. It was absolutely fantastic being in that city last summer. I met
some new friends. I really enjoyed the trip a lot. My friends are
completely awesome. I talk with them sometimes. In my trip, I also saw
beautiful places; for example, Time Square, Dawn Town, and The Bronx.
Fortunately I met new people and met new places. They made my trip
wonderful. Unfortunately, the vacation finished, but it was the best trip
ever.

Last Holy week, my best friend joined me on a
trip to Puerto Plata. She liked this trip a lot. We saw the most amazing beaches
and rivers. Also, the nature and forest were amazing. Fortunately, the weather
helped us. it was very sunny. It was excellent all time. Unfortunately, on Wednesday,
when we were camping, a tree caused her an allergy. We went to a hospital. The Doctor
gave her some medicine. The next day, we went to my parents’ house and other nice
places. The amazing livestock the richest man of the area has and the lifestyle
of people called my friend’s attention. We will go there next year.
Nick Jonas Concert

I had an amazingly experience in the concert that was held on August 8th,
2015. I enjoyed it a lot because Nick Jonas is my favorite singer. I cried like
a crazy girl and I didn't know why. My friends and I were so happy because we
could see him and sang his songs. Fortunately, after concert, we went to
his hotel in the Colonial Zone and saw him in the lobby. We had to wait for 2
hours and some of my friend could take pictures with him in a restaurant. Unfortunately,
I couldn't go to the restaurant. I Just could touch his head, but I was happy
for them. I've never forgotten this experience. It was the most exciting
experience I've ever had.

Last month, I was in my break from my English class and my friends
and I decided to go to the ice cream shop to get some ice cream. I got some
money, but it was not enough. There were
some promos at the Bon ice cream store. Unfortunately,
I got confused with the offers. They had a different one on the screen and I
asked for something that wasn’t on the right offer. Amazingly, I had the money to pay. Later, I
realized I was running out of money and the change they gave me was not enough
for me to pay the car to get back home. Fortunately, I got some balance on my
phone so I called my brother and he sent a Uber taxi to pick me up on my
location and that way, I could get home.
Palmar De
Ocoa Beach

Three years ago, I went to Palmar de
Ocoa beach. It was great. I hadn't been there before. I went there with some
friends and relatives. Fortunately, the beach was very beautiful and big.
We enjoyed it a lot. Also, we played some games in the water.
Unfortunately, it rained, but we really liked it.
My Mom Is Amazing!

One day back to when
I was 7 years old, my brother and I were at school and during the break, we saw
a kid with this cool toy. We got close to him and asked him if we could try it.
Amazingly, he allowed us to play with it. It was a pretty cool toy, so later on,
when me and my brother arrived home, we told to our mom about it. Unfortunately,
she told us that we had to eat and sleep a little bit. Amazingly, when we woke
up, she took us to the toy shop and bought us the toy. It was amazing. She’s
the best!
My Friend’s Birthday

It was in an amazing
surprise of my friend, Ingrid. It was her 21st birthday. We made a
great picnic in Jean Carlos’ house, but it was a surprise for her. Fortunately,
she didn’t Know or suspect anything about it, but unfortunately, she arrived
before we finished to plan everything. The problem was that her boyfriend,
Gregory took her to the picnic early because he understood that we have
finished, but we hadn’t. Fortunately, he closed her eyes until. She entered into
the house, and when she saw everything, she was so impressed. It Was an
exciting moment. I loved it.
